I’ve been sitting on this track for a good while now (this past April-ish). I couldn’t really figure out how to keep it rolling with another verse, chorus, etc. With Halloween coming up soon and the fact that I’ll likely be dressing up in my spurs, I figured I’d just cap this one with some synth non-sense and a few sound effects and call it a day. Not every song has to be an 8-minute long ballad!
Nothing too much to note here except that I went a bit wild with distortion and formant shifting. The two featured instruments are of course the Yamaha CP70-B for the blown-out pianos. But the real star of the show is the pico_synth_sandbox! I’ve been working on it a lot recently to get ready for our local Maker Faire, and it’s getting to that point where it’s easy to pick it up and get going. All of the synth melodies I added at the end are all from the pico. Pretty decent, I’d say!
